You can do hard things.

Read time: 1.5 minutes

Hey Reader,

Do you know you are a baller?

No, really.

I'm in a reflective mood as I make my way through my third chocolate orange in a month (don't ask about the chocolate coins).

This year has been tough for many.

Just in my circle there have been family deaths, miscarriages, long cancer recoveries, stressful house renovations, long-term illness, job losses and hard personal decisions.

When going through these situations;

(that are often unexpected and not "part of the plan"...)

It feels freaking hard.

→ You feel out of control

→ Everything slows down

→ You don't feel like yourself.

It may take weeks, months or years to get to the other side

But something inevitably happens:

You get there and you surprise yourself.

A lot of my clients tell me "well I had no choice"

But that's not true.

Getting to the other side shows grit, persistence and resilience

It means putting one foot in front of the other

Often not knowing the outcome and with a lot out of your control

I've never met a single client who hasn't had a story like this.

(i.e evidence of navigating a tough experience and coming out the other side)

You are no different.

As Glennon Doyle says: You can do hard things

When you build confidence and grit outside of work (whether by choice or circumstance) it seeps into other areas of your work

But so many of my clients forget that the thing they are desperately looking for → Confidence

They already have within them. As do you.

That's key to building confidence and self trust → start with the evidence in your own life (career or otherwise).

And realise that the same components that got you through those situations. Willllll get you through future ones. 💪🏽

So as you do some reflection on this year and maybe if you are saying good riddance to it...

Remember that YOU got through those situations.

Even if you struggled along the way.

Knowing your next career move and going after it with confidence are the two biggest challenges clients come to me with.

But they are two sides of the same coin, and so should be tackled together. So if you are done with going round in circles and not going the potential you know you have...

(I have something juicy for you)
